CCR Roofing Services, in partnership with P1 Group, meticulously restored this stunning historic roof. The project began with the careful removal of the existing Ludowici Clay Tile and all associated trims. Before installing the high-temperature adhered underlayment, extensive decking repairs were necessary. The observation tower required custom-fabricated, soldered copper pans for a precise fit.
Additionally, all new copper trims were expertly crafted and installed before reinstalling the original clay tile over newly elevated cedar battens. To complete the restoration, a color-matched mortar was applied to all exposed edges.
One of the biggest challenges of this project was sourcing additional clay tile to replace breakage while ensuring a seamless match to the existing profile, as proprietary molds continuously evolve.
